From Monogram

This coffee comes to us from Ricardo Koyner, a third-generation producer whose family was one of the first to grow coffee in the Boquete region of Panama. Ricardo is known for his innovative spirit—he’s constantly experimenting with new processes and varieties while staying grounded in the legacy of his family’s farms in both Boquete and Volcan.

This particular lot is a caturra, processed using an anaerobic natural method. It’s a bold, expressive coffee with the depth and richness we’ve come to love from Kotowa, and a touch of wildness thanks to the controlled fermentation. The result is a cup that’s both complex and easy to love.

What makes this coffee even more exciting is what’s to come. Ricardo’s daughter, Victoria, is stepping into the fold as the fourth generation. With a Master’s in food science and a thesis focused on aroma markers in Panamanian Gesha, we can’t wait to see how her passion and knowledge will shape the next chapter at Kotowa.
