Carefully selected during our visit to Uganda this year, grown in a region steeped in coffee tradition: cherry sweetness & a velvety texture.

This coffee holds special significance for us, as it was carefully selected during our journey to Sipi Falls in Uganda earlier this year. We were inspired by the dedication of the small community of farmers in the Tangwen Community.

The Sipi Falls micro-region is renowned for producing some of Uganda’s finest coffees. Its unique combination of high-altitude and the expertise passed down through generations of farmers are contributing factors.

This lot was carefully sourced during our trip to Uganda, where it was cultivated by a small, dedicated community of local farmers. The cherries are delivered to Zukuka Bora Coffee Company, a long standing partner in the region. This initiative was established to uplift the people of Mt. Elgon, providing vital support for education, clean water projects, health promotion, and farming practices.

Ripe coffee cherries are selectively harvested and delivered to the wet mill. The harvest is then floated in fresh water and separated by density. The selected cherries are then fermented in sealed tanks for 12 hours. Lastly, the coffee is dried for 30 days on shaded, raised beds.
