A standout coffee that we debuted at the Specialty Coffee Expo in Chicago, this geisha is a smooth and juicy passionfruit and raspberry tonic. It was hands down the fan favorite at our booth! This gem just received a glowing review and a score of 95 by coffeereview.com. Don't let this coffee pass you by!
This coffee was brought to us via Desarrolladores de Cafe under the care of producer Wilder Lasso. This washed coffee was harvested on the 16th of February and fermented dry for 36 hours and in mucilage for another 100 hours. The final step was 12 days of drying on raised beds.
Blind Assessment
Elegantly fruit-forward, richly aromatic. Strawberry guava, lychee, cocoa nib, amber, ginger blossom in aroma and cup. Brightly sweet, gently tart, balanced acidity; vibrant, silky-smooth mouthfeel. Harmonious, resonant, coherent finish.
Bottom Line
This complex, nuanced Colombia Geisha, a washed anaerobic, evokes the tropics with its sweet-tart fruit and spice-toned floral notes, integrated with a cocoa nib throughline.
