Banko Dhadhato is a coffee born from the rich landscapes of Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone, crafted by 755 smallholder farmers who tend to family-owned farms where coffee grows alongside native shade plants, fruits, and enset- a vital crop for the community. Since 2013, the cooperative has been part of YCFCU, supporting its farmers with fair trade practices and organic certifications. This coffee isn’t just delicious- it embodies a deep commitment to sustainability and local empowerment.

Grown at high altitudes in volcanic soils, Banko Dhadhato benefits from a unique combination of cooler temperatures, abundant rainfall, and diverse microclimates, allowing the cherries to mature slowly. This contributes to a sweet and vibrant cup with bright notes that reflect the natural richness of the land. The surrounding diversity of plants and crops adds a layered, nuanced profile that is distinctly Ethiopian.

After handpicking at peak ripeness, the cherries are sorted, depulped, and fermented overnight before being washed and sun-dried on raised tables. The result is a coffee with juicy peach, silky milk chocolate, and a subtle hint of Earl Grey- sweet and smooth, delivering a balanced sip every time.
